Will MeeGo revolutionize mobile computing?

Now it’s confirmed - the MeeGo Linux operating system will be released soon, maybe we’ll see first versions already at the end of March. MeeGo has developed out of a merger of Intel’s Moblin and Nokia’s Maemo. Orange is also about to use MeeGo for their mobile devices. I think we can expect to see the OS on even more mobile devices. The makers claim that MeeGo introduces a “new era of mobile computing” - I am really curious to test it on my netbook to see if this big promise holds.

The OS will run on Intel Atom-powered netbooks and also on Nokia’s internet tablet N900. The MeeGo OS will be open source, so we can look forward to some improvements of it by talented developers.
